Spaco (AC-DX003), Cassette Spacer

The new SPACO cassette spacer now available in two spec for MTB and Road Bike cassette

The Spaco cassette spacer has sprung into existence thanks to Steve Peat's mechanic Tom Duncan (See red Bull report). This smart fellow came with the idea to create a rear sprocket for a road bike cassette that would function as a spacer. However, if you're familiar with Steve Peat, a world champion downhill rider, why would he even need a road bike cassette?

@Bike check: Steve Peat's Santa Cruz V10

Pro downhhill riders don't need big teeth sprockets in their rear cassette. It's excess weight. What they need are small teeth sprockets that can handle the speed their going downhill with. Road bike cassette's come with smaller teeth sprockets. The cassette spacer allows Steve Peat to use a road bike cassette and throw out the largest excess teeth to (drastically) reduce weight.

Unfortunately this spacer made by Tom Duncan was customized for Steve Peat's Santa Cruz V10 and is not avaiable on the market. So the Fouriers team decided to take the responsibility and to Fouriers POWER Tom duncan's spacer UP.

The Result?

Spaco (AC-DX003), a beatiful piece of CNC Alloy 6061-T6 completed with a special design that not only looks good but also adds extra safety. This spacer is a mere 25-grams. If you compare that by replacing a largest teeth from your standard cassette (Shimano XT 10 speed) totalling 185-gram, you can save up to 160 gram. But it doesn't stop there. Not only can you use Spaco for MTB bike cassettes but also for Road cassettes. The spaco will transform your cassette to a 7 speed up to 19T sprocket for road bike cassettes and 24T for MTB cassettes.

Now That's what we call, a serious upgrade.

Fouriers has taken great care in choosing the colors for Spaco to fit all types of frames now on the market. you can choose out of five colors: Red, Green, Gold, Gray and Blue.
