Why 35mm bar ,stem system?
Why 35mm? We get this question asked to us a lot about our handlebars and stems. We believe in the 35 system because after repeated testing and analysis on our test machines and in the real world, we found that the thicker bar is more stable than the presently 31.8 system. There are still some sceptics on this spec upgrade so we make it easy to be a convert. We make a carbon shim to retrofit our stems which can change a 35mm stem to fit a 31.8mm bar. Along with the added strength of using an oversized stem, we found through our vibration testing machine that the carbon shim significantly reduces riding vibrations due to the natural riding properties of carbon.
This is how we test our 35mm system carbon handlebars. They have better stiffness then alloy bars and it has a more comfortable real-world feel. We do not only spot test our bars like other manufacturers. We specifically test EVERY handlebar coming out of our factory like this so you know you are getting a quality bar.
